What is a Google CV?
If
someone searches for your name in Google, what would the results tell them
about you? How would this affect their opinion of you professionally or socially?
What they will find is known as your Google CV, the
Google search results page returned for a name search. Your Google CV
will often be the first introduction for a potential employer or customer and
in today’s world where online
visibility plays such a large role, it’s a good idea to make sure that
you make a good great first impression.
A Google CV – the new black?
Just
like a traditional CV or resume, everyone (yes, even Grandma) should have a
Google CV – and it should feature the “you” that you want others to see. A
fundamental step to online self-marketing is ensuring the results of your
Google CV portray you in the way you want to be seen. As with a traditional CV,
we want our best attributes and qualifications to be acknowledged on this
searchable database. A Google CV is a great opportunity for people to find all
sorts of information about you- your website, academic qualifications,
LookupPage or your blog. This ensures that whoever is looking for you online
gets as much relevant (and positive) information as possible through one quick
search. Nifty.
Keeping the slate clean
Unless
you are Superman, it’s pretty difficult to please everyone all the time. A
Google CV is generally made up of social media profiles and professional
biographies, submitted articles and a few mentions of your name by third
parties. That said, there may be times where you come across negative mentions
of your name (gasp!) on the first page of the SERPs. This would be like
including any negative information about you on your traditional CV – foolish.
You can muscle out negative mentions by adding more content about
yourself online.
Plan of attack
It
is every avid Google enthusiast’s dream to appear on the first page of the
SERPs for a search conducted for their own name. Personal branding will play an important role in your future successes
and the Internet provides an excellent channel to augment it.
Being
visible online brings you one step closer to success. LookupPage can assist you in keeping
track of your Google CV, monitoring your online reputation and making
sure people get to know you as a trusted and credible source online. You can
use SEO
and PPC together to improve
your Google CV - by creating and syndicating content such as branded articles,
creating social media profiles and optimising all of your content.
How can LookupPage help you build a Google CV?
LookupPage is an online service that provides personal visibility, online reputation management and business promotion for professionals and small businesses. A case study of LookupPage’s founder and CEO, Ehud Furman’s Google CV is a great example of the power of personal branding. Using Lookup Page and taking control of your Google CV can open up many opportunities online- whether it be an employee/employer search, rise to instant fame or even the girl you met last night at the pub looking you up.

Customization of resume is an art that does not come easily to every jobseeker.
Then there is a science of customization which converts a plain text resume into
8 graphs, online / automatically / instantly.
If the main goal of a resume is to capture the attention of the recruiters and it's
secondary goal is to motivate the recruiters to read it long enough to interpret the
jobseeker's story, then you will appreciate what www.CustomizeResume.com can
do for your career.
To impress the recruiters, what you need is a graphical / visual / analytical presentation.
